We all know how much growth there has been, and will be in the online retail sector, selling online is a big business that even retail giants like Myer and Harvey Norman are jumping on too.
Consumers are getting more and more comfortable with buying goods of any kind online, but with that come expectations. Consumers are now understanding their rights as online shoppers, and are increasingly shopping around for an even better deal.
It comes as no surprise the importance of Free Shipping is a major tipping point for shoppers.
"A lot of consumers are taking free shipping for granted," said ComScore Chairman Gian Fulgoni. Indeed the report also came to the conclusion that 61% consumers are "at least somewhat likely" to cancel their entire purchase if free shipping isn't involved.
As E-commerce hits the highest level as it ever has against retail spending, the perk or expectation of Free Shipping, is even greater. "Free shipping is a major incentive to buy more, as orders with free shipping average around 30% higher in value those that tack on a couple of bucks for transport."
Does your online store have Free Shipping? Maybe it's time to think about it...
